6 Cosmetic Procedures You Should Avoid

Whether you know it or not, there’s a pretty good chance that you know someone who has gotten cosmetic surgery before. And, if you don’t, there’s an even better chance you’ve at least heard of someone who has undergone a procedure or two, like Kylie Jenner.

Plastic surgery becomes more and more popular every year. Of course, with more plastic surgery comes more plastic surgeons, some which are better than others. In accordance with an increased number of procedures being done each year, there are more and more botched procedures or procedures that run into complications of some sort. In addition to the increases in plastic surgery there are more rash decisions being made and people are making more choices without the proper amount of research.

As a result of the all the increases, in addition to a few other reasons, there are quite a few possible risky cosmetic procedures one could undergo. While some are just due to their tendencies to become botched surgeries performed by under-qualified plastic surgeons, others are plainly more dangerous than a typical procedure.

Knowing which procedures are safe and which procedures are risky is integral before undergoing any form of plastic surgery. So, if you’re interested in undergoing a cosmetic procedure at some point, then here are 6 cosmetic procedures you should avoid:

1.     Mesotherapy and Liposdissolve

Ever heard of the phrase, “if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is”? While that might be the rule of thumb for diets, you can certainly apply that rule to plastic surgery as well. If someone told you that you could finally get rid of those stubborn fat deposits by simply getting a shot, you’d probably think that is too good to be true.

Well, unfortunately, it is too good to be true. Lipodissolve, which is an injection that purports to dissolve away stubborn fat deposits, utilizes a shallow injection that involves a concoction of many substances – none which are approved by the FDA. This procedure is dangerous, with very little studies done on its effects, and is often performed by underqualified surgeons. Dentists have even been reported as performing such a procedure.

2.     Butt Implants

Many women in today’s world want to be like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj, but the simple fact of the matter is that they shouldn’t. Receiving butt implants is a relatively dangerous procedure as they come with a high rate of complications.

There are a couple reasons for such a high rate of problems. First of all, in order to hide the incision from plain view, it is often made close to the anus. With all the germs around that area there is an increased chance of infection. Also, being placed in your behind the implants go through a lot of wear and tear, increasing the likelihood of future complications.

3.     Tattooed Makeup

This one should be a no-brainer, but it’s not. While every girl in the world would love to save time in their day to skip their makeup routine, the solution is certainly not to tattoo your makeup on. Not only is a lackluster replacement, but the chances of regret are very high as makeup trends change depending on what type of event you are attending in additional to how quickly social trends change.

Not only is there a high likelihood of regret with tattooed makeup, but removing the tattoos is a very difficult task as the facial tissues are among some of the softest and most delicate tissues in the body. This makes removing them very difficult, and being front and center, hiding any removal scars can be quite the task.

4.     Extreme Facial Procedures

Stick to the conventional facelift and other minimally invasive procedures. Extreme facial procedures have a strong tendency to backfire on the individual and their hopes, and the effects only worsen over time. And, just as with the tattooed makeup, these procedures are taking place on a very delicate part of the body which makes remedies very difficult to attain for any botched or complicated procedure.

5.     Permanent Filler Injections

While many people find the price for one procedure favorable over temporary fillers, which are generally very safe and effective, but require multiple procedures over time, any considering permanent fillers should reconsider. The issue with permanent fillers is their tendency to lead to a number of complications after being placed into the body.

For instance, they lead to irreversible binding with the body’s tissue, and they often drift leading to a distorted appearance. And, in the case of a botched procedure, you are stuck with the results for ever. There’s definitely a high risk here, with very little chance of a reward.

6.     Cosmetic Foot Surgery

Again, this should be a no brainer. While cosmetic foot surgery ranges in techniques and procedures, the whole idea is very risky. This has similar problems with the butt implants and the facial surgeries. The feet are very delicate, and the feet also go through a lot of wear and tear and they are very susceptible to germs and bacteria, increasing the risk of infection. So, instead of hoping a surgery can make them look better, just focus on new toe nail polish and nicer heels.

At the end of the day, it is important to know the risk of any procedure you might be considering as there are possible complications whenever you undergo a cosmetic procedure. Of course, some are more dangerous than other. Also, it is always important to remember to ask about the risks during your consultation, and if you have unanswered questions, don’t be sacred to ask your health care provider about the procedure you’re interested in and whether it’s right for you.
